Walker High School JROTC
The Official Website of the Walker High School Branch of the Army JROTC
What Is JROTC?
The goal of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens. To accomplish this goal, we combine classroom instruction and extracurricular activities oriented toward attaining an awareness of the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of citizenship, as well as developing the student’s (Cadet’s) sense of personal responsibility, building life skills, and providing leadership opportunities. JROTC continues to provide classes, opportunities, and extra-curricular activities that enrich our Cadets' lives and teach them life-long skills.
What JROTC Is Not
We are not an army preparatory class. We do not train cadets in military sciences nor do we enlist cadets into the military. Cadets are not required to enlist in any branch of military service upon completion of this course although if a cadet wishes to continue his/her military career in college, the cadet will start at a higher rank upon completion (4 Years) of this course.
Walker Jrotc Cadet Creed
I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet
I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school, and the Corps of Cadets
I am loyal and patriotic. I am the future of the United States of America.
I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.
I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.
I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.
I will seek the mantel of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.
May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.
